  Relationship between mobility decline and occupational participation: A cross-sectional study of community-dwelling older adults
■ 概要
  This study examined the association between mobility decline and occupational participation in 212 community-dwelling older adults using multivariable analysis. Using the locomotive syndrome stage test, hierarchical logistic regression compared no decline (stage 0) with decline (stages 1-3), and preclinical (stage 1) with apparent decline (stages 2-3). In the early comparison, older age was a risk factor and more group exercise time was protective. In the advanced comparison, older age and ongoing illness were risk factors, while employment, group exercise, grip strength, and higher occupational participation scores (Self-Completed Occupational Performance Index) were protective. Thus, occupational participation was related to advanced, but not early, mobility decline. Preventive occupational therapy may prioritize accessible exercise in early stages and individualized participation support in advanced stages.
