■ 概要 We investigated cognitive function in 13 patients with genetically confirmed spinocerebellar ataxia type 6 (SCA6) and 13 matched healthy controls. Verbal memory, executive function, and visuospatial construction were assessed using neuropsychological tests. Patients with SCA6 showed significantly poorer word recall and letter fluency, whereas word recognition, other executive functions, and visuospatial construction were preserved. These findings suggest that memory encoding and storage remain relatively intact, while retrieval of memorized information is selectively impaired in SCA6. Impaired word recall and verbal fluency may reflect word-retrieval dysfunction associated with damage to frontal-cerebellar circuits.
